Who are we and what do we do?

We are a youth NGO working on projects of non-formal education, charity fund raising and active citizenship.

The Foundation was created in 2004 by a team of  teaching professionals and has expanded ever since, initiating and partnering in a number of projects of non-formal education.

We have been active promoters of of European Voluntary Service within the  Erasmus + Programme for a number of years.   So far, we have hosted more than forty wonderful volunteers from Europe and sent a fewer number to EVS projects abroad to partner NGOs. Volunteers in Varna work with the kids of foster homes, a daily center for disabled children and  language high schools.

The very special vibe about BalkanKids is that everybody - former and present volunteers form a long-lasting community of friends, who are always ready to support and work actively for the brighter future of disadvantaged children.

Moreover, our Foundation is contributing actively to the well-being of children-in-need by organising large-scale charity initiatives together with a non-formal circle of young volunteers" PTPI- The Dolphins". The largest of them is the Christmas hand-made cards charity, in 2014 raising more than 6 500 euro and donating life-saving equipment to ill children and elderly people with impaired vision.

In a nutshell, BalkanKids is an enthusiastic and reliable partner for any cool ideas that link people together!
